Project Overview
One goal of reimaginging Nomade Cocina's brand identity was standing out in a crowded market, as Austin is home to numerous impeccable food options. I aimed to foster customer loyalty and enhance brand recall. Consistently carrying this identity across all platforms ensures Nomade's brand message is clear, recognizable, and trusted, leading to increased customer engagement, perceived value, and long-term success.

A well-designed brand identity creates a consistent experience across all touchpoints. This consistency reinforces the brand message and values, making it easier for customers to remember and engage. The strategy centered on embodying the essence of the Yucatan and Mayan culture— reflecting the natural beauty of the Yucatan coast and the deep, historical roots of the Mayan civilization. Key elements like texture, earthy tones, and ancient motifs were considered to visually convey the brand’s connection to this rich heritage, ensuring the identity was both grounded and evocative.
Design
The design phase involved selecting a bold, block-style typeface for the primary logo to evoke strength and timelessness, complemented by a minimal sans-serif typeface that reflected the handcrafted, organic essence of the brand. The color palette drew inspiration from the coastal hues and the architectural elements of the Yucatan, creating a cohesive visual experience. The logo suite was carefully designed to include versatile variations that seamlessly adapt across different mediums and platforms.
In the iteration phase, we refined the website by addressing key design and functionality issues. This included replacing all-caps body copy with sentence case for readability, limiting line lengths to no more than 70 characters for better legibility, and improving color contrast for accessibility. The site’s layout was reorganized to align with customer priorities, making the menu, hours of operation, and table booking easily accessible. We also enhanced navigation to ensure a user-friendly experience.
